| On Friday 11 November 2011 at 11:11, 102,000 poppies were dropped from an Australian Defence Force Augusta 109E helicopter over Brighton Oval to honour those Australians who made the ultimate sacrifice in war.

| The inaugural Sydney Legacy Remembrance dinner was a fabulous evening.
Members of the Special Operations Task Force spoke about leadership in the battlefield, giving detailed insight into the rigours and challenges of being in Afghanistan and the dedication, commitment and bravery of those fighting there.
Sydney Legacy thanks InvoCare, the Australian Army, Royal Australian Air Force, Australian Army Band – Sydney, Adventure Kokoda, PB Towage, David Brown Graphics and The Tattersalls Club for their support.

|  | Legacy WA was very proud to be one of four charities that benefitted from the Big Aussie Barbecue, held on the last day of the Queen’s visit to Perth as part of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

Australian Defence Force Charity Ball, Brisbane

| The 7th annual Australia Defence Charity Ball was held on Saturday, 10 September 2011 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. This prestigious and impressive event brought together over 800 guests from the corporate community and the John Holland Defence Force to raise funds for Legacy.
MC for the night was Gretel Killeen, host of the Logie winning Big Brother. Gretel has travelled to Iraq, the Solomon Islands, East Timor, Egypt and Afghanistan to entertain our troops, and also has family links to Legacy.

| Help make a difference to the families of WA’s deceased military veterans by taking part in Legs 4 Legacy – a new fun new event for all the family.
Legacy in WA are hoping for hundreds of walkers to participate in this new charity walk, following a 5km course starting and finishing at Whitfords Nodes on Sunday 4th September 2011.

| This fantastic dinner marked the launch Legacy week in SA.
The event was attended by 210 people including Legacy Patron HE the Governor Kevin Scarce and Mrs Scarce.
VC recipients Mark Donaldson and Ben Roberts–Smith helped Maggie with the cooking and also relayed their VC stories.
