Perth Legacy - Legacy

Legacy is dedicated to caring for the families of deceased and incapacitated veterans. Today Legacy's caring and compassionate service assists 115,000 widows and 1900 children and dependants with a disability. Legacy is a voluntary organisation supported by veterans, servicemen and women, and volunteers drawn from all walks of life. Our support and services now extend to include the dependants of members of today's Australian Defence Force who lose their lives as a result of their military service.

Legacy is dedicated to enhancing the lives and opportunities of our families through innovative and practical programs aimed at:

  • the protection of individuals and families basic needs;
  • advocating for their entitlements, rights and benefits;
  • assisting families through bereavement; and
  • helping people thrive, despite their adversity and loss.
PERTH JOINS COUNTRY-WIDE STOMP TO SUPPORT THE FAMILIES OF OUR TROOPS

This Australia Day, former and serving troops from the Royal Australian Regiment (RAR) will remember the 32 Australian soldiers killed in Afghanistan by taking part in the first Stomp for Support, which aims to raise over $120,000 for Legacy.

More than 1,350 men and women from 13 locations – including Perth – will participate in the 32-km military-style march to generate funds for Legacy.

Perth event organiser Frank Smallwood said the Perth Stomp would be held at 7am on Australia Day at Lake Monger, and participants would include current and former RAR members .

He said: “We’re encouraging as many people as possible to come down and show their support for our servicemen and women.”

Donations can be made at www.everydayhero.com.au/RARbuddiesstomp .
