Legacy Junior Public Speaking Award - Queensland 2010

The Legacy Junior Public Speaking Award (LJPSA) is a national competition conducted through schools for competitors aged 12 to 14 years. The competition is coordinated by Legacy.
The aim of the LJPSA is to enhance the oral communication and public speaking skills of 12 to 14 year old students and to help young people appreciate the ideals of Legacy - voluntary service, caring and companionship.
Zone competitions are held in seven zones throughout Queensland in the first half of the year. The winner of each zone competition then competes in the state championship in Brisbane on 17 July 2010. The winner and runner up of the state championship then go on to compete in the national titles on 8 November 2010.
Prizes are awarded at both state and national competitions. The national champion’s school is presented with a perpetual trophy.
Brisbane Legacy will organise and meet excessive travel and accommodation costs for state finalists, and for one parent or guardian per competitor. Legacy will meet all travel and accommodations costs for attendance at the national final.
