Cressy Fleece Show, 19 & 20 November 2011
Once again Colac Legacy Club Inc., the beneficiary of last years’ record amount raised at the Cressy Fleece Show, wish thank all those wool producers who donated fleeces for competition and as a gift to Legacy’s Patriotic Welfare Fund.

The Show was also supported by sponsorships allied to the wool industry. Gifts of additional wool coupled with donations added a significant contribution to the returns and in all an amount of close to $12,000 was raised. This function continues to grow, and continues to be a major contributor to the Club Patriotic Welfare Fund, which is used exclusively to support and comfort the widows of ex-Servicemen.

Colac Legacy is indebted to all contributors and voluntary workers.

Jim Coad, our Fleece Show Chairman, and his deputies Ross Alexander and Frank Watts are very gratified with the generosity and the high quality of the wool growers contributions which made the 2010 Show an all-time record.

The next Show is fast approaching. Jim, Ross and Frank are again contacting the wool-grower contributors for assistance as they work to make the CRESSY FLEECE SHOW for 2011 even better for both the Colac Legacy Club and especially for the Widows the Club keeps a watching brief over.

Legacy Week Press Release

Legacy Week Badge Appeal
Sunday 28 August - Saturday 3 September 2011

The Legacy Week Appeal aims to build awareness about the importance of Legacy’s work in the community. The campaign also hopes to raise much needed funds to assist the services that Legacy provides to 100,000 families of Australia’s deceased veterans.
Legacy is a unique Australian tradition which is born out of the trenches where a promise was made to a dying mate that “someone would look after the missus and kids.” In 2011 Legacy is asking the Australian public to help Keep The Promise to the dependants of deceased veterans buy buying a Badge or making a donation during Legacy Week.

Over 25,000 troops have been deployed overseas since 1999 and over 5,000 new widows of deceased veterans enrol with Legacy every year. We need the public’s assistance to ensure Legacy’s crucial services continue both now and into the future.

Colac Legacy needs your support. You can do so by buying a badge, donating or even volunteering to participate in the appeal by selling Legacy badges in your local community.”

The public has given wonderful support to the Appeal in the past and we hope that this will continue in 2011.
