The inaugural meeting of the Legacy Club of Mackay was held on March 1st 1947. The foundation members were H.P.Rasmussen, J.Condie, R.Taylor, T.G.Mulherin, O.N.McLardy, G.Gow, H.Bolton and F.S. Williams.
H.P.Rasmussen was elected president and F.S.Williams secretary James Condie was president for 1948/50 and his son David Condie, president in 1962/63 and 1971/72. David Condie also served for more than 20 years as secretary.
T.G.Mulherin, James Condie, David Condie and later presidents, A.F.Abbott and B.C.Badger, also served terms as Mackay District R.S.L president.

Mackay Legacy has an active membership of 32 legatees.
The club cares for 554 widows, three school children and four adult disabled dependants.

Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month, commencing at 9.00am in the Recreation Hall, War Memorial Homes, Creal Street, Mackay.
|
|
|
|
|
The Mackay Club’s district extends from Proserpine in the North to St.Lawrence and west to include the mining communities of Moranbah and Dysart.

|
The office is open Thursday and Fridays 9.00am to noon.
