Queensland State Final Legacy Junior Public Speaking Award

The 2009 Queensland State Final of the Legacy Junior Public Speaking Award was conducted at the Parliamentary Annex, Brisbane on Saturday, 18 July.
The competitors were:

- Christopher Kitto - Cathedral College, Rockhampton;
- Connor Cashman – St Joseph’s College, Brisbane;
- Molly McInerney – The Glennie School, Toowoomba;
- Matthew Nielsen – Immanuel Lutheran College, Buderim;
- Crispin Scott – Mercey College, Mackay;
- Harriet Jackson, Hillbrook Anglican School;
- Tom Lock – Marymount College, Burleigh Waters; and
- Beatrice Forna, Trinity Bay State High School, Cairns.

| The competition was of a very high standard and the eventual winners were:

| | Crispin Scott - Mercey College, Mackay
|
|
| Both Molly and Crispin will now go on to compete in the National Final to be held in Brisbane on 9 Novermber, 2009.
