Task of Legacy Foundations

From the beginning, the Legacy Foundations task was clear - to keep up the good work of Legacy, by establishing a practical means of maintaining Legacy welfare assistance.

The task confronting Legacy today is wide-ranging and calls not only for personal commitment, but also for the experience and knowledge that individual Foundation members will provide.

Prime Objects

  • To provide assistance to present and any future Legacy Clubs to asssit women and children accepted by Legacy under the Code of Legacy and to do all acts to perpetuate the spirit and concept of Legacy to assist to support the principle of personal service.
  • To provide scholarships in the name of the Foundations, assistance for ex-servicemen and ex-servicewomen (as defined by the Board of Directors) and their dependants, the elderly and disabled and widows and children in necessitous or impoverished circumstances.

Main Tasks

  • To hold and oversee the stewardship of Legacy assets.
  • To accept the responsibility of ensuring that establishments are maintained and used for the purposes for which they were bought, built or donated.

Personal Alarm Systems

The Foundations give financial support to all clubs in NSW to assist them in providing personal medical alarm systems to widows who need them. This invaluable service enables widows to remain independent by ensuring that quick access to medical attention is available at all times.
