Established in February 1928, The Legacy Club of Adelaide, despite its title, operates throughout South Australia and Broken Hill providing 80 years of dedicated service in the care of dependants of deceased veterans. Adelaide Legacy is administered from Legacy House at 102 Franklin Street, Adelaide, by a small staff and 650 volunteer Legatees. Adelaide Legacy coordinates fifteen metropolitan and country groups of volunteers throughout the State, providing care and support services to over 11,000 widows and children. These are situated in the following areas:

Legacy is proud of the fact that the funding of programs is not government based. This funding comes from corporate sponsors, annual and occasional fundraising campaigns, general donations and bequests. In excess of $1,000,000 is required annually to provide Legacy services.

Legacy sponsored Widows Clubs are established throughout the State. The clubs are run by the widows themselves with support from Legacy and provide companionship and mutual support. There are 55 Legacy Widows Clubs including Younger Widows (widows of Vietnam Veterans etc) in the following locations:
