Toowoomba medals en route to Pozieres

Legatee Bryce Rogers presents a replica of his father's medals to Amber Glasgow.

Legacy Australia Inc is coordinating a Study Tour for 80 Junior Legacy Beneficiaries of the Pozieres area in France for the Anniversary of the Battles. Toowoomba Legacy is sponsoring two Junior beneficiaries from our area. They are Courtney Borthwick 20 yrs of age (currently attending University in Brisbane) and Amber Glasgow, 16 yrs of age (attends School at St Josephs College Toowoomba).

Amber Glasgow attended the monthly meeting of Toowoomba Legacy on Wed 15th June where Legatee Bryce Rogers, one of our elder Legatees, presented a replica set of his father’s medals, who enlisted at 18 and served in France in the first World War. The intent is for Amber to wear them on appropriate occasions on behalf of Bryce’s father and Bryce, in memory of all who gave their lives for (in old terminology) King and Country.

Bryce never really knew his father who died when Bryce was only 13 months old, when Bryce’s mother and family came under the care of Legacy.

The Study Tour leaves for France on 17th July 2016 from Sydney.
