Local accounting and financial planning firm Robertson Scannell recently became the proud owners of an authentic replica set of 20th century legacy badges following their generous donation to the cause last week.
Toowoomba Legacy President, Legatee John Ryan and Vice-President, Legatee Ian Mackenzie paid a visit to the firm on 24th November to personally thank them for their fundraising efforts. John and Ian presented Robertson Scannell partners Mark Mahony and Anthony Ahern with the badges and a framed certificate of appreciation for their office.
The plan to support legacy followed on from the firms Annual Golf day which, this year, was held on Armistice (Remembrance) Day. Robertson Scannell employees and clients gathered at 11:00 am for a minutes silence followed by a short flag raising ceremony accompanied by local bagpiper Carl Hinds.
A raffle was held on the day as well as novelty holes around the course requesting a gold coin donation, allowing Robertson Scannell to raise $2,400 to support Legacy.
“I was shocked when I opened the envelope and saw the amount on the cheque,” said Mr. Mackenzie.
John and Ian explained how the funds would be used to support the wives and children of past war veteran’s, by providing help with groceries, bills and even Christmas shopping.
“It’s not often we receive unsolicited donations,” commented Mr. Ryan “It is much appreciated.”







Toowoomba Legacy is supporting 5 Junior Legatees at University this year, 12 at Primary & Secondary School and 1 Pre Schooler.
