| In the latter half of 1945 Mr K Lucas of Murwillumbah was made a contact member of Sydney Legacy. This appears to have been the first step towards the formation of a Legacy Club in the Far North Coast Area of NSW.
In February, 1946, Mr Bert Mullins, who was the moving force in the formation of Lismore Legacy, went to Sydney and met the executive of the Sydney Legacy Club. As a result of the meeting he was asked to return to Lismore and select 14 ex-servicemen with a view to forming a contact group.
The group was officially launched at an inaugural meeting and dinner held on the 20th May, 1946. At the request of Sydney Legacy, the Tweed-Brunswick Contact Group was transfered from Sydney to Lismore Legacy from the 30 June 1948. It was evident that it would be necessary to form other groups throughout the Club area and moves were made to form Contact Groups at Casino in September 1948, Ballina in March 1949 and Kyogle in September 1949.
