Each year there are a number of events to raise funds to assist Legacy’s work and also increase the awareness of Legacy
in the general community.

Charter Flight to Canberra - Saturday 30 October 2010
This major fundraising event for Legacy is due to the generosity of Cobham Aviation Services who have donated an 81 seat jet aircraft for the day.
This day includes a money can't buy experience tour of Duntroon Military College and lunch hosted by General Peter Cosgrove AC, MC, followed by a guided tour of the Australian War Memorial. The flight leaves Adelaide at 8.00am returning at 6.30pm the same day.

Legacy Junior Public Speaking Award
The Legacy Junior Public Speaking Award Competition is a national Legacy competition to raise the awareness of Legacy and its work in schools and among the families of students. It also assists in the development of public speaking skills. Young students aged between 12 and 14 years are asked to present a short speech of 5 minutes incorporating one of the ideals of Legacy followed by a 2 minute speech.
Entry forms are now available for the year of the competition and have been posted to all Junior High Schools throughout the State (government, independent/private and Catholic).
State heats are normally conducted in May/June with the Final in August at which two contestants are selected to represent the State in the National Final.

The National Final is held in a different Capital City each year in November on the Monday closest to Remembrance Day (11 November).
In 2010 heats will be in Adelaide on 4 and 5 June and the State final on 13 August 2010 all at Legacy House, Adelaide.

Two South Australian finalists will compete in the National Final in Melbourne on Monday 8th November 2010.
2010 Badge Appeal
The annual Badge Appeal will be held throughout the state and Broken Hill during Legacy Week from Sunday 29 August to Saturday 4 September 2010. Traditionally Badge Day in the city and most areas is on the first Friday in September. In 2010 it is Friday 3 September.
If you are able to assist as a volunteer for a time on Friday or during the week please contact Legacy.
Coming Events
Legacy Race Day
The 62nd Legacy Race Day will be held at Allan Scott Park Morphettville on Saturday 17 July 2010.
To obtain a nomination form to buy a horse for a chance to win $100 and help in raising funds for Legacy please contact Mandy at Legacy on 8231 9812.
Governors Golf
The best golfers in the state will represent their clubs as they vie for the Governors Golf Cup at Glenelg Golf Club on Thursday 26 August 2010. For more details contact your local golf club or Legacy.
Army Band Concert
An Army Band Concert with guest artists is planned for the afternoon of Sunday 24th October at the Adelaide Town Hall. More details including the cost of seats will be available in due course.
