Armidale Legacy - Legacy

Legacy is dedicated to caring for the families of deceased and incapacitated veterans. Today Legacy's caring and compassionate service assists 115,000 widows and 1900 children and dependants with a disability. Legacy is a voluntary organisation supported by veterans, servicemen and women, and volunteers drawn from all walks of life. Our support and services now extend to include the dependants of members of today's Australian Defence Force who lose their lives as a result of their military service.

Legacy is dedicated to enhancing the lives and opportunities of our families through innovative and practical programs aimed at:

  • the protection of individuals and families basic needs;
  • advocating for their entitlements, rights and benefits;
  • assisting families through bereavement; and
  • helping people thrive, despite their adversity and loss.

Legacy Services

Legacy's assistance is aimed at helping families of deceased veterans to live rich and meaningful lives.

Legatee Members

Legacy services are provided by our volunteer members (called Legatees). If you share the ideals of Legacy and want to assist in our work, we would welcome a membership enquiry from you.

Legacy Support

To maintain Legacy's services we rely heavily on public support. Our principal fundraising activity is the Legacy Week Badge Appeal. The appeal is to be held from 30 August to 5 September 2009.

Thank you

Armidale Legacy thanks the public for their generous support of the
2011 Legacy Week Badge Appeal.
Local secondary school students from Armidale High School, O'Connor College and The Armidale School contributed their energies to ensure a successful outcome.
Support from local individuals, businesses, community groups and ex-service organisations is greatly appreciated.
