Our services - Coffs Harbour Legacy

Club History

Coffs Harbour Legacy has 30 units in the Coffs Harbour area and 4 units in Bellingen. These provide low cost housing to Legacy’s widows.

Albany Street, Coffs Harbour: Ten stucco-fibro units opened in 1965.

Lyons Road, Sawtell: Eight units built in 1967 on land granted to Legacy by Coffs Harbour Shire Council. Subsequently the ‘common room’ was converted to a unit.

Church Street, Bellingen: Four Hardiplank units were opened in 1969 on land purchased by Legacy in 1968.

Shea Street, Coffs Harbour: Eleven brick veneer units built in 1973. The land was granted to Legacy by the NSW Department of Lands.

Coffs Harbour Legacy maintains a waiting list and more information can be obtained by contacting the office on (02) 6652 7583.

Coffs Harbour Legacy also operates the following business centres:

Legacy Nursing Home: Building commenced in 1972 on land granted to Legacy by the Board of the Coffs Harbour and District General Hospital. The building was completed in early 1974 at a cost of about £215,000. It is a 49 bed Nursing Home with an excellent reputation.

Legacy House: Property purchased on the 16th March 2006 at a cost of $970k. The building was completely refurbished and is commercially rented. It has become a major income stream for Legacy.

Legacy Opportunity Shop: Legacy has operated an opportunity shop at 2-4 Scarba Street, Coffs Harbour since 2004. It is operated by a dedicated group of volunteers and as well as providing good quality merchandise, it is a visible face of Legacy in the community.
The Shop Manager is Sue Collingridge and is available on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday

Coffs Harbour Legacy is staffed by the Community and Public Relations Officer, Jane Sury; and the Welfare Secretariat Kelly Pandelakis, & Jenny Strickland
There are two Community Service Workers: Marion Hangan, who services the northern area from Coffs Harbour to Red Rock and Alison Hughes, who services Coffs Harbour to Urunga.

Marion is available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Alison is available on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
