Peter Heeney

Legatee Peter Heeney enlisted into the Australian Army in 1968 and served as an infantry private soldier in South Vietnam 1970-71, and reached the rank of Warrant Officer Class one in 1986 and in 1988 was appointed and commissioned to the rank of Captain.

In January 1992, Legatee Heeney resigned from the Regular Army and joined the Army Reserve, and in 1996 retired with the rank of Major.

Peter joined Legacy in Townsville in 1982 and later was a member of various clubs including President of Yarra Valley Club 1987-88, and then became President of Perth Legacy 2006-8 and 2018.

Peter was appointed to Legacy Australia Board as a Director in 2015 and still serving, including Chair National Marketing Committee.

Peter is also Secretary of the Korean War Memorial Committee to be dedicated on the 27 July 2023, and is the State President of the Royal Australian Regiment Association WA 2018-21 and Master of Ceremonies for Korean Armistice Day and Vietnam Veterans Day in WA.

Peter has two children and three grandchildren.
