On Thursday 22 May, Legacy Brisbane and Sydney Legacy joined forces for Legacy Giving Day, raising more than $460,000 for veterans’ families. From 8am to 8pm, all donations made ...
Fundraising for the 2020 Legacy Week looked different under the new guise of COVID-19 and social distancing restrictions, resulting in Legacy thinking outside of the box and teaming up with Pretty as a Picnic to create the inaugural Legacy Bears Picnic.
Offering picnic hampers for two or four people, Pretty as a Picnic also sold Legacy’s famous teddy bears and Legacy picnic blankets, so families and friends could create their very own Legacy Bears Picnic with the hashtag, #legacybearspicnic.
Legacy Week is typically a time when Legacy is out and about in force, raising awareness and vital funds with the public and the work we do to support veterans’ families. With the country still feeling the impact of COVID-19, face-to-face fundraising in Greater Sydney was canceled, and so the picnic hampers were a great way to support an iconic Australian charity.
$20 from each hamper sold went directly to Legacy in order to continue the important work we provide to families of those who have served in the Australian Defence Force.
