Legacy WA was privileged once again to have a team choose us as their charity for the South32 Rottnest Channel Swim this year. The team was the 3 Squadron, a unit in the Pilbara Regiment of the Australian Army. They chose Legacy WA as it is a cause very dear to the team’s heart, being all current serving members of our Australian Defence Force.
It was unfortunate that the swim was cancelled due to dangerous and unsafe conditions, the second time in the 34 years it has been, but we are glad all participants are safe. Even though 3 Squadron had their swim cut short, they still managed to raise an amazing amount of funds and even smash their fundraising goal in the process. Achieving over $4,000 ($4,282) for Legacy WA, we are all beyond thankful for their brilliant effort at this year’s swim.
