Adelaide Legacy - Legacy
Today, Legacy's caring and compassionate service assists around 80,000 widows and 1,800 children and dependants with a disability nationally.
In SA and Broken Hill, over 6,800 dependants including 60 children, and those with a disability are assisted.
Legacy is a voluntary organisation supported by veterans, servicemen and women, and volunteers drawn from all walks of life. Our support and services now extend to include the dependants of members of today's Australian Defence Force who lose their lives or are incapacitated as a result of their military service.
Legacy is dedicated to enhancing the lives and opportunities of our families through innovative and practical programs aimed at:
the protection of the basic needs of individuals and families;
advocating for their entitlements, rights and benefits;
assisting families through bereavement; and
helping people thrive, despite their adversity and loss.
Legacy’s vision is that dependants of deceased and incapacitated veterans will receive personal Legacy contact and support tailored to meet their individual needs.
While previously Legatees (Volunteers) were ex-servicemen, today men and women from all walks who share the ideals and ethos of Legacy may become a member. We welcome all volunteer enquiries. Please contact Mark Taylor at Adelaide Legacy on 08 8231 9812 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Legacy is a charitable not-for-profit organisation and raises over 95% of its own funds. Some assistance is received from the State Government, however, most of our funds are raised from general donations, bequests, events and appeals. Bequests, in particular, are gratefully received as this enables Legacy to plan for the future. Please contact the Business & Development Manager at Adelaide Legacy on 08 8231 9812 or email email@example.com if you would like more information on leaving a Bequest in your will.
