Legacy is dedicated to caring for the families of incapacitated deceased and veterans. Today Legacy's caring and compassionate service assists around 70,000 widows and 1,900 children and dependants with a disability. Legacy is a voluntary organisation supported by veterans, servicemen and women, and volunteers drawn from all walks of life. Our support and services now extend to include the dependants of members of today's Australian Defence Force who lose their lives as a result of their military service.
Additionally we care for Australian War Widows in 37 countries from our overseas branch called London Legacy.
Legacy is dedicated to enhancing the lives and opportunities of our families through innovative and practical programs aimed at:
- the protection of individuals and families basic needs;
- advocating for their entitlements, rights and benefits;
- assisting families through bereavement; and
- helping people thrive, despite their adversity and loss.
Additionally London Legacy is dedicated to locating the families of both Australian and New Zealand service personnel living in the UK in order to offer our support. Many of these deserving families are unaware of our presence in Europe. If you are aware of any such families, please contact London Legacy.
If you wish to make a donation specifically to London Legacy, please send cheques made payable to London Legacy to our Contact us address.
Legacy's assistance is aimed at helping families of incapacitated and deceased veterans to live rich and meaningful lives.
Legacy services are provided by our volunteer members (called Legatees). If you share the ideals of Legacy and want to assist in our work, we would welcome a membership enquiry from you.
To maintain Legacy's services we rely heavily on public support. For information on how you can help by becoming a London volunteer or to make a London Legacy specific donation, please contact the London Legacy address listed on our Contact us page.
