Christmas Cheer in Action: Sydney Legacy Prepares Gifts for Veterans’ Families

On Monday 17 November, Sydney Legacy staff and volunteers prepared Christmas gifts for veterans’ families. 

Every year, Sydney Legacy wraps presents and assembles Christmas hampers for the families and younger Widows we support.  

These Christmas hampers have been made possible through a very generous donation from Activision Blizzard, with several of their team members volunteering to help wrap gifts in our Sydney office.

Sydney Legacy also prepared gifts for its Christmas party, kindly donated by Safran. 

The holidays can be a difficult time for many of the families we care for. It can be a reminder of the sacrifices their loved one has made, and the emotional and financial challenges they continue to face. 

Our Community Services Workers and Legatees engage with each family to find out the children’s interests, so they each receive something they’ll love. 

These presents are a reminder to our families that they are seen and cared for. While the gifts are just for one day, they are part of Legacy’s holistic approach to care, providing personalised financial, social and emotional support when our families need it most. 

Over the coming weeks, the hampers will be delivered to families and party gifts will be handed out at our upcoming family Christmas barbecue.
