Our Beneficiary Hannah’s story
Being part of the Gold Coast Legacy family has played such an important role in my life. After my dad passed away in Afghanistan, Legacy supported our family by helping fund our schooling. At the time, my sister and I were quite young and didn’t fully realise the impact, but looking back now, I can see how much that support meant. It ensured our education wasn’t disrupted during such a difficult and uncertain time in our lives.
Legacy has made a difference not just through financial support, but through the sense of stability and care they provide. Knowing that help is always just a phone call away has meant so much to me. I truly believe I could reach out to my Legatee at any time and feel heard and supported – it’s a community that genuinely looks after its families.
To me, being part of Legacy means being part of something bigger – a network of people who stand by you through some of life’s most challenging moments. Even now, seven years after finishing school, I still feel just as connected and supported as I did back then.
One moment that stands out to me was performing at a Legacy event in 2018. Hearing the stories shared there was incredibly moving, and it made me feel so proud to be part of such a strong and supportive community. I’ve always felt encouraged in my creative pursuits by Legacy, and I loved being able to give something back in that way.
I’m incredibly grateful for everything Legacy has provided to me and my family, and proud to be part of a community that continues to uplift and support others.
